The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan criticized the harsh detention of terrorists from Crocus City Hall

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, during a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS in Minsk, expressed a demand for Russian law enforcement agencies to follow the principles of international law when investigating the terrorist attack that occurred in the Crocus City Hall concert hall. The attack, which occurred on March 22, killed 145 people, including six children, and injured more than 550.

Muhriddin condemned the practice of publicly displaying the detention of suspected terrorists and the use of violence against them, which, in his opinion, leads to forced confessions.

“Demonstration in the open information space of footage of the detention of alleged perpetrators of a terrorist act with the use of torture in the form of bodily mutilation is unacceptable. The price of confessions obtained in this way is well known to everyone.”, - he stressed.

The minister also expressed concern about the formation of a negative image of citizens of Tajikistan and called for preventing the spread of xenophobia and intolerance in society. He stressed the need to respect the presumption of innocence before the court pronounces a verdict.
