The German Defense Minister arrived in Kyiv to discuss joint weapons production.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius made an unscheduled visit to Kyiv. The trip, which was unannounced due to security concerns, was devoted to expanding defense cooperation between Berlin and Kyiv. The main topic of discussion was the joint production of weapons, particularly long-range systems, including attack drones.

According to German media, Pistorius's visit marks a shift from emergency military aid deliveries to a long-term, structured partnership. The German defense sector is interested in strengthening cooperation with the Ukrainian defense industry, which has accumulated unique experience over the years of conflict. As Pistorius stated earlier, cooperation is reaching a "new, strategic level," where both sides benefit: Ukraine receives new technologies and weapons, while Germany gains access to combat developments and the opportunity to test its systems in real-world conditions. This was confirmed by the participation of representatives of German banks, foundations, and the defense industry in the negotiations, in addition to military personnel.
