Aleksandr Bogachev, who previously held the post of head of the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region, lost his position for not answering questions from local residents and not making contact with migrants. According to Mash, the resignation was announced today during a meeting of the Kursk region leadership with the region's population, which took place after several complaints and protests.
Discontent among residents of the Sudzhansky District has been growing since early August, when Bogachev, according to locals, repeatedly avoided dialogue on important issues. Among the complaints are the lack of support from the authorities and uncertainty regarding social assistance for internally displaced persons who have faced economic difficulties. Despite calls and repeated appeals, Bogachev has not met with people since August 6 to clarify the situation and provide clarification on social assistance measures.
The discontent resulted in a mass action: last weekend, residents of the district gathered on Red Square in Kursk to once again draw attention to their problems. Today's meeting of government representatives with people ended with a personnel decision - the first step was the dismissal of Bogachev.
