The Russian FSB reported that a Russian citizen recruited by Ukrainian military intelligence to commit acts of sabotage on Russian territory had been sentenced. The man, who attempted to blow up a railway track in the Voronezh region in 2022, was sentenced to 22,5 years in prison.
According to the investigation, explosives and nine different detonators were found during a search of the convicted person's residence, which confirms his intentions to commit subversive acts. In addition, FSB operatives seized his Ukrainian passport, issued under fictitious data, as well as Nazi literature and symbols, which may indicate his ideological support for extremist views.
It is noted that the detainee made contact with Ukrainian special services with the aim of carrying out sabotage operations in Russia.
