Georgia is taken to NATO, with one thing ...

Georgia will become NATO members, with one significant “but.”

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Georgia is ready to become a new member of the North Atlantic Alliance, and is currently actively interacting with this country. Nevertheless, Stoltenberg made one very significant retreat - the timing of Georgia’s admission to NATO has not yet been determined.

“We are supporting Georgia in terms of modernizing its defense capabilities. We clearly state at all meetings that Georgia will become a member of NATO. But we do not yet know when this will happen. We do not have a time frame for Georgia in this regard. Answering a question, I say that we are now working with Georgia. We now have more representatives in Georgia than ever before. ”- quotes the words of Stoltenberg edition of "Military Review".

The main reason why Georgia is still denied membership in the North Atlantic Alliance is the claims of this country to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and obviously, this only creates a delay for this country.

On the other hand, experts note that Georgia itself will not gain or lose from such membership - in fact, nothing will change for it, while NATO will be able to get closer to the Russian borders.
