The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, confirmed that as a result of an attack by Ukrainian saboteurs on the territory of the region, the commander of the Preobrazhensky battalion squad, Yuri Gorevoy, was killed. According to Gladkov, Gorevoy died from a shot in the head, and not from a shrapnel wound, which was initially assumed.

Yuri Gorevoy was not officially recognized as a serviceman, however, in view of the current situation, the authorities of the Belgorod region decided to pay compensation to his family in the amount of three million rubles from the regional budget. This decision was taken in recognition of the significance of his contribution and sacrifice to the security of the region.

The event caused a great resonance in society and emphasized the seriousness of the threat posed by sabotage groups. The situation in the region remains tense, in connection with which the authorities continue to strengthen security measures and control over the situation.

Yuri Gorevoy was a member of the Preobrazhensky Battalion, a volunteer public organization created to protect the territory and population of the Belgorod region. His death as a result of an attack by Ukrainian saboteurs was a tragic reflection of the severity of the conflict and its consequences for the civilian population.
