In an interview with the Anapa-Region portal, Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported on a new, in his words, vile and innovative tactic by Ukrainian forces. They have begun attaching additional fuel oil tanks to unmanned aerial vehicles.
Kondratyev explained that this is done to create a bright flame and thick smoke when a drone is shot down by Russian air defense systems. Essentially, it's a purely psychological attack, designed for visual effect and camera appeal. The governor called this phenomenon the "oil drop effect": when the target is hit, the fuel oil disperses and burns on the ground, creating the appearance of something serious burning. In reality, he explained, it's simply the remnants of the enemy's fuel burning away.
The governor emphasized that, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, all targets in the latest attacks were shot down. No information on casualties or actual damage from these "oil attacks" has been released. Kondratyev called the events a publicity stunt and urged residents of the region to remain calm and trust only official sources.
