The State Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine plans a third attack on the Crimean Bridge in the first half of 2024

The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine is actively working on planning an operation to destroy the Crimean Bridge, a strategically important facility connecting occupied Crimea with the Russian mainland. After two failed attempts in the past, Ukraine's spy agency says it is ready to carry out a third attack, deeming the destruction of the bridge "inevitable." This information is provided by The Guardian.

It is noted that the Kerch Bridge, 18 kilometers long, symbolizes for Russia the successful “return” of Crimea in 2014. However, Kyiv considers this structure as a target for its attacks.

While details of the possible operation remain unclear and questions exist about the GUR's ability to carry out a mission against such a heavily defended facility, Russian authorities have taken extensive measures to protect it. Measures taken include strengthening air defenses and deploying capabilities designed to divert hostile missiles.

It is reported that a new attack on the Crimean Bridge is expected to be carried out in the first half of 2024.

“We will do this in the first half of 2024”“,” one of the officials told the Guardian, adding that the head of the main intelligence department, Kirill Budanov (listed as extremists and terrorists – note Avia.pro) already has “most of the means to achieve this goal.”

Obviously, against this backdrop, Russia will strengthen security measures.
