The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine reported the alleged burning of a Mi-24 helicopter in the Moscow region

Ukrainian military intelligence (GUR) reported the alleged burning of a Mi-24 helicopter at the Klin-5 airfield in the Moscow region. According to GUR, the operation was carried out on the night of November 9-10, 2024, and the target was an attack helicopter, allegedly part of the 92nd squadron of the 344th Center for Combat Use and Retraining of Army Aviation Flight Personnel.

The GUR published footage as evidence. However, despite the claimed success, no convincing evidence was presented to support the Ukrainian special services' assertion. Satellite images of the airfield show no traces of a fire, and Russian law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Defense have not confirmed or denied the incident. Given the regular dissemination of unreliable information by the GUR of Ukraine, the statement made raises serious doubts.

The Mi-24 is a Soviet and Russian attack helicopter developed by the Mil Design Bureau and widely known by its nickname "Crocodile". It combines the functions of a combat helicopter and a transport helicopter capable of carrying up to 8 paratroopers, making it unique in its class. The Mi-24 is equipped with powerful weapons, including machine guns, unguided missiles and anti-tank systems, which allows it to effectively destroy armored vehicles, fortifications and enemy manpower.
