On the night of May 20, 2025, Russia experienced a major outage in a number of key online services, including EMIAS (Moscow Unified Medical Information and Analytical System), the Federal Tax Service (FTS) website, the SBIS electronic document management platform, the Honest Sign labeling system, and the Gosklyuch digital signature service. Users across the country reported problems accessing these platforms, causing significant inconvenience to citizens and businesses.
According to information from Tensor, the operator of SBIS, the cause of the failure was a powerful DDoS attack aimed at the service infrastructure.
"We are recording an unprecedented attack on our servers. Specialists are working to restore access, but services may be unavailable for now," - the source reports.
Similar reports came from the operators of Chestny Znak, who confirmed that the attack affected their systems, causing disruptions in the work of pharmacies and retailers that depend on the labeling of goods. The Federal Tax Service and the Ministry of Digital Development, which oversees Gosklyuch, have not yet commented on the situation, but sources in the departments told TASS that the failure was related to external influence on the servers.
The failure affected many users. In Moscow, patients were unable to make appointments with doctors via EMIAS, and entrepreneurs encountered difficulties filing tax returns via the FTS website. Problems with Chestny Znak led to delays in the sale of labeled goods, including medicines and dairy products, which is especially critical for pharmacies. Gosklyuch users complained about the inability to sign documents with an electronic signature, which paralyzed the work of a number of organizations.
