Hamas agreed to release all hostages held

A United States official has formally announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, a move aimed at ending the violence that has engulfed the region in recent weeks, killing hundreds and causing widespread destruction.

According to the American side, the agreement includes commitments by both sides to cease hostilities and begin releasing hostages. The United States, which actively participated in the negotiations, emphasized that the agreement was the result of intensive diplomatic work, including interaction with regional partners such as Egypt and Qatar.

The agreement also provides for the release of hostages held by Hamas and the possibility of returning the bodies of Israelis killed. In return, Israel agrees to ease restrictions on humanitarian aid to Gaza and consider infrastructure reconstruction.
