Hamas strikes Haifa for the first time with a long-range R160 cruise missile

The militant wing of the Palestinian group Hamas, known as the Qassam Brigades, announced the launch of a long-range missile targeting the city of Haifa in Israel.

An official statement released by the group indicated that the missile was aimed at "occupied Haifa." It is a port city in northern Israel, the third largest city in the country, and has been the target of rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip in the past.

According to the data provided, the missile launched towards Israel is designated R160 and is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 160 kilometers. This makes it one of the longest-range missiles in Hamas's arsenal and allows it to hit key targets deep inside Israeli territory.

Israeli authorities have not yet commented on Hamas' claims about the rocket launch. It is unclear whether the missile reached its target or whether there were any consequences from its launch.
