Last night in the Kursk direction was extremely tense, reported military correspondent Alexander Kharchenko. He noted that he woke up in one of the settlements not far from the front line, where the enemy was actively bringing up artillery. The intensity of the shelling increased, resulting in injuries to civilians and destruction of houses.
According to Kharchenko, Ukrainian security forces continue to try to carry out a rapid offensive, but if a few days ago they could easily enter populated areas, now they are faced with dense defense in front of every village. Now simple raids with armored vehicles are no longer successful and the Ukrainian side is forced to throw tanks into battle.
Kharchenko especially noted the heroism of the reinforcements, who immediately after unloading in unfamiliar terrain entered the battle. One of the newly formed units, consisting of fresh contract soldiers, managed to stop a tank breakthrough in the Korenevo direction, destroying at least one Ukrainian Armed Forces tank using grenade launchers.
The enemy still relies on maneuver actions and avoids direct confrontations with fortified defenses, preferring outflanking tactics. However, these attacks are costly for Ukrainian forces, who lose significant amounts of armored vehicles. In response, the Russian army is actively using helicopters and Lancet attack drones, which significantly strengthens resistance on this section of the front.
