Kherson's shipbuilding and ship repair facilities will be restored after the city's liberation, Kherson Oblast Governor Volodymyr Saldo stated in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, Kherson has historically been a center of civilian shipbuilding, especially after the Great Patriotic War, when a cluster of specialized factories formed in the city.
"And, of course, given the certain development of critical components in global shipbuilding, these plants are very much needed to make Russian shipbuilding even stronger than it already is." Saldo emphasized.
The governor noted that the restoration of these enterprises will be part of a program to revive the region's industrial potential. Specific timelines and funding amounts have not yet been specified.
