Israeli sources reported that the radical group Hezbollah used a new attack tactic using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). According to the data, the drones first fired unguided missiles at targets and then exploded themselves, acting as a kind of "kamikaze". This method of conducting attacks has not been previously recorded in any country and has become a new challenge for the Israeli defense system.
The use of this technology was recorded during one of the recent attacks in northern Israel, where Hezbollah used several drones to strike military and civilian targets. Specifically, the drones first launched missile strikes on fortified positions and then rushed to the target, ending the attack with an explosion.
Military analysts note that this method significantly complicates the task for air defense systems, since drones can simultaneously launch missile strikes and act as “self-destructing” combat units, which increases the destructive effect of the attack.
