Houthis launch missile attacks on ships in the Red Sea

A serious incident occurred in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, a key point of world navigation connecting the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden. A British merchant ship flying the flag of the Bahamas came under missile attack. According to information provided by the British maritime security company Ambrey, the ship was in the area where the waters of the Bab el-Mandab Strait washes Yemen, Djibouti and Eritrea.

Al-Hadath TV sources claim that the ship was flying the flag of the United Kingdom and had a British crew. It is noted that in response to the attack carried out by the Houthis from Yemen, the naval forces of the United States and Israel took part.

The Yemeni Navy issued an official statement claiming that it attacked two Israeli ships - Unity Explorer and Number 9. According to them, the attack was carried out using a ship-borne missile and a drone. The Yemeni navy says its actions were in response to Israeli ships ignoring warning messages. The statement also said that Yemen will continue to prevent Israeli ships from sailing in the Red and Arabian Seas until the end of what they call "Zionist aggression against the brothers in the Gaza Strip."

“This morning, the naval forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces, with the help of the Almighty, attacked two Israeli ships in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, namely the ship "Unity Explorer" and the ship "Number 9". The first was attacked by a ship's missile, and the second by a ship's drone. The operation came after the ships rejected warning messages from the Yemeni navy. The Yemeni armed forces continue to prevent Israeli ships from sailing in the Red and Arabian Seas until the Zionist aggression against our stalwart brothers in the Gaza Strip ceases.", - said in a statement.

Previously, the Houthis warned that they would attack ships flying the flags of Israel and the United States.
