Houthis hit US destroyers USS Cole and USS Laboon in the Red Sea

The Yemeni Houthis launched a daring attack on two American destroyers - USS Cole and USS Laboon - located in the Red Sea. The attack used both unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ballistic missiles. The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the region and anticipation of an Iranian attack on Israel.

According to sources, the Houthis carried out an attack on the destroyer USS Cole using drones, which were able to approach the ship at a critically close distance. At the same time, the destroyer USS Laboon came under fire from ballistic missiles fired from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen.

The Pentagon previously announced the dispatch of these ships to the region in order to protect US allies and prevent a possible attack from Iran.
