India complained about problems with the supply of Russian S-400 air defense systems

In India, they reported problems with the supply of Russian S-400 Triumph air defense systems.

Despite the fact that India became one of the largest buyers of Russian S-400 Triumph air defense systems, having signed a contract for the supply of these weapons back in 2018, it became known that India and Russia had disagreements regarding the transfer of these weapons to India .

As it turned out, the supply of S-400 air defense systems by Russia for the needs of India will be delayed indefinitely. The reasons for this are not disclosed by either the Indian or Russian sides. Despite the fact that deliveries were previously reported to be completed in 2023, according to a senior Indian Air Force source cited by The Economic Times, deliveries have been pushed back to late 2024.

“There is a major project... where supplies have been halted due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This year we had a large delivery that will not take place. They told us in writing that they were unable to deliver.”, - quotes the statement of an official of the Indian Air Force edition of The Economic Times.

It is known that the supply of S-400 air defense systems has been partially implemented. In particular, according to official data. India received three sets of these air defense systems from Russia.

It is reported that due to problems that have arisen, it was necessary to seriously cut the funding of the Indian Air Force.

«In terms of forecast, our forecast last year was Rs 85 crores and we finally got an allocation of Rs 000 crores which we spent. This year the forecast itself was lower due to this Russian-Ukrainian conflict, as some of our deliveries are not being made. So we have already been told that there will be no such deliveries, the components are over.”, - said the representative of the Indian Air Force.
