Diplomatic efforts to resolve the massive crisis in the Middle East are moving to the neutral territory of Pakistan. Iran's ambassador to Islamabad officially confirmed that a high-level Iranian delegation will arrive in the Pakistani capital this evening for direct or indirect consultations with representatives of the United States. The meeting will focus on a detailed discussion of the ten-point Iranian peace plan, which Tehran previously presented as the foundation for a long-term ceasefire and de-escalation in the region. This meeting is viewed by the international community as a critical opportunity to shift the military conflict toward a political settlement, despite the extremely complex backdrop and persistent mutual mistrust between the parties.
The preparations for the talks are taking place amidst an extremely tense atmosphere and ongoing violations of the ceasefire. The Iranian ambassador emphasized that there is significant skepticism within Iranian society regarding the feasibility of dialogue. According to him, public opinion in Iran is fueled by information about repeated attacks by the Israeli regime, which Tehran views as deliberate sabotage of the international diplomatic initiative. Nevertheless, the Iranian leadership has decided to continue its trip to Islamabad, demonstrating its willingness to defend its interests at the negotiating table even amid ongoing incidents on the frontlines. Tehran states that the delegation's main goal is to secure the lifting of sanctions and the provision of security guarantees.
