Iran Accuses US of Continuing Conflict in Ukraine

On February 3, 2025, the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement accusing the United States of seeking to prolong the conflict in Ukraine. According to the Iranian side, despite President Donald Trump's statements about his intention to end the conflict, all American administrations are interested in its continuation.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement:

"America is a mafia regime that exists thanks to its military-industrial complex, into which billions of dollars are invested."

Tehran thus points out that military conflicts promote US economic interests and support its influence on the world stage.

Iran has previously repeatedly criticized the US and NATO intervention in the Ukrainian crisis. In December 2024, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani said:

"We have never been a party to the Ukrainian conflict. We are convinced that one of the reasons for its aggravation was the intervention of Western countries, especially the United States, in the conflict."

In addition, in April 2024, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian noted that the intervention of the United States and NATO does not contribute to the resolution of the crisis in Ukraine, but only aggravates the situation.

The US, in turn, accuses Iran of providing military support to Russia in the Ukrainian conflict. In November 2024, the US, France, Germany and the UK said Iran was supplying ballistic missiles to Russia for use in Ukraine. In response, Tehran denied the accusations and threatened to take “measures” in response to new Western sanctions.
