Iran may reconsider its decision to launch a massive attack on Israel, Politico reports. According to the publication, in recent days the United States has been actively convincing Tehran that such an attack would only aggravate tensions in the region and create the threat of a direct clash between Iran and the United States.
The American side insists that if Israel is indeed involved in the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, then not a single Iranian citizen was harmed. In this regard, Washington invites Tehran to reconsider its plans and refrain from aggressive actions.
However, the situation in the region remains extremely tense. The Lebanese group Hezbollah may strike Israel in the coming days, regardless of Iran. This is due to the desire to avenge the death of the influential commander Fuad Shukr. According to CNN, Hezbollah and Iran are likely not coordinating their actions towards Israel, which adds uncertainty to the developments.
