Iran plans to produce Su-30 fighter jets under Russian license

Within the framework of military-technical cooperation with Russia, Iran wants to start producing Su-30 fighters.

Given the fairly close cooperation between Russia and Iran, Tehran may well come to an agreement with Moscow on the production of licensed Su-30 fighters. Similar information was voiced by Iranian journalists.

At the moment, it is known that Iran has received Russian Su-35 fighters into service. However, Iran is interested in building a truly powerful air force in the Middle East, especially given the outgoing threat from Israel, the United States, Saudi Arabia and other countries.

“One of the biggest expectations regarding Iranian-Russian cooperation is that Russia will allow Iran to build the Su-30 under license”- said Iranian journalist Khayal Muazzin.

Whether Moscow has plans to transfer to the Islamic Republic the right to manufacture Su-30 fighters is unknown, however, these combat aircraft are considered by no means less promising than Su-35 fighters, which, among other things, has been proven as part of the ongoing special operation on territory of Ukraine.
