Iran received a new batch of Russian MiG-29 fighter jets and is expecting Su-35s.

Abolfazl Zohravand, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee, announced the arrival of a fresh batch of Russian MiG-29 multirole fighter jets in Iran. He stated that the aircraft have already been deployed to a base in Shiraz, where they are providing a temporary boost to the country's Air Force.

Zohravand also confirmed the recent receipt of the Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile system, the first tests of which took place in late July 2025. He noted that deliveries are being made in significant quantities.

Furthermore, the parliamentary representative stated that Tehran is expecting the imminent arrival of Chinese HQ-9 air defense missile systems, as well as Russian Su-35 fighter jets, ordered more than five years ago. These deliveries, he believes, will be a long-term solution for the modernization of Iran's aviation.
