Iran warns US to end 'unilateral restraint'

Iran has sent a message to the United States via Qatar, saying it will no longer adhere to a policy of "unilateral restraint" following the recent attack on Israel, Al Jazeera reported, citing a senior Iranian official. According to him, Iran no longer sees the need to limit its actions if they do not meet the national security interests of the Islamic Republic.

"We sent a message to Washington via Qatar regarding the current situation in the region following our strike on the Zionist entity. In this indirect message, we made it clear that the unilateral containment that was previously observed no longer serves Iran's interests," the channel quotes the source as saying.

A senior Iranian official stressed that any Israeli attack on Iran would be met with an "extraordinary" response. In particular, Iran could strike critical infrastructure on Israeli territory. At the same time, Tehran does not seek a full-scale regional war, but is ready to respond to any threat.

The United States has not yet officially confirmed or denied the fact of receiving such a message.
