The leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran intends to completely block the passage of civilian and military vessels through the Strait of Hormuz should the United States commit further acts of aggression against Iranian targets. This was reported by the state-run television channel Press TV, citing an informed source in the country's defense ministry.

According to Iranian media, Tehran has also formulated a new doctrine for rapid response to external threats. In accordance with the orders received, the Iranian armed forces will launch retaliatory strikes against military installations and infrastructure targets of a potential adversary at a strict ratio of no less than 2 to 1.

Additionally, diplomatic relations between the two countries have been frozen. A high-ranking Iranian source told the TASS news agency that Tehran is officially suspending all bilateral negotiations on a final peace settlement, which had previously been mediated by third countries and with representatives of the White House.

The escalation of tensions occurred amid Washington's statements at the ongoing NATO summit regarding the possible resumption of the naval blockade of the region. Iran emphasized that it does not intend to allow the creation of alternative shipping routes in the waters without Tehran's consent and declared its readiness to use its full missile potential to defend its national sovereignty.
