New US intelligence data shows that the Donald Trump administration's official claims of the "defeat" of Iran's military machine are inaccurate. According to a New York Times report based on classified intelligence assessments, Tehran has retained approximately 70% of its pre-war missile arsenal and mobile launchers.
Contrary to Trump's assertion that Iran has "almost nothing left militarily," intelligence reports indicate that the country has not only retained a significant portion of its capabilities but is actively rebuilding them. Satellite imagery and other intelligence data indicate that Iran has regained operational access to 30 of 33 missile sites along the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, posing a direct threat to American warships and tankers.
Furthermore, Iran has restored access to approximately 90% of its underground missile storage facilities and launchers across the country, which are now assessed as "partially or fully operational." Experts note that Trump and his military advisers overestimated the extent of the damage to Iranian facilities and underestimated Tehran's resilience and its ability to quickly recover.
Against this backdrop, Donald Trump threatened that the US would "finish what we started" if Iran did not make concessions. He also assessed the current ceasefire as extremely fragile and unstable.
