Iran captures another oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz

The Iranian military captured another tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.

A few hours ago it became known that the Iranian military captured another tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, on board which was transported smuggled oil (according to other sources - diesel fuel) in the amount of about 250 thousand liters.

Who owns the seagoing vessel captured by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) is not reported, however, this significantly increases the tension in the region, especially after attacks by Yemeni rebels against the largest oil refineries in Saudi Arabia, which led to a sharp jump in oil prices.

According to preliminary data, the crew of the sea vessel tried to escape into the territorial waters of a neighboring state, and therefore, the Iranian military was forced to open warning fire on the sea vessel.

Currently, there are no comments from Tehran on this subject, however, this could lead to another aggravation of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, especially given the fact that part of the oil is illegally transported from Syria.
