Isfahan, June 13 — Avia.pro. Serious technical and logistical obstacles have been identified on the path to resolving the nuclear crisis in the Middle East, where Tehran has taken unprecedented measures to protect its most valuable defense assets.

According to the respected American television channel CNN, citing informed sources, Iranian authorities have significantly strengthened the security of key nuclear facilities in recent weeks. Government forces have reportedly deliberately destroyed some underground tunnels and booby-trapped the entrances to secret storage facilities containing highly enriched uranium.

Approximately half a ton of near-weapons-grade uranium, a significant portion of which is now located in collapsed underground galleries of the Isfahan nuclear complex, has been placed under strict containment. Experts from relevant agencies note that such radical steps by the Islamic Republic virtually eliminate the possibility of a rapid inspection or seizure of the materials by international observers.

These defensive measures could critically complicate the implementation of the potential agreement between the US and Iran, which is expected to be signed at the Geneva talks. If the agreement requires the transfer or destruction of stockpiles, the international community will need heavy engineering equipment, large-scale demining, and the involvement of specialized nuclear experts to gain access to the uranium.
