Ahmad Bakhshaesh Ardestani, a member of Iran's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, has confirmed the supply of missiles and drones to Russia, despite recent denials by the Iranian mission to the UN. According to him, Iran is exchanging weapons for food and currency, circumventing sanctions. Information on this matter is published by Iran International.
Ardestani admitted that barter trade takes place between Russia and Iran.
"Europeans are selling weapons to Ukraine, NATO is actively involved in the conflict, so why shouldn't we support our ally?" "Ardestani said, adding that cooperation with Russia helps Iran circumvent sanctions.
It is noteworthy that the admission from the Iranian legislator came less than a day after the Iranian mission to the UN denied information about the supply of ballistic missiles to Russia, previously published in The Wall Street Journal.
The Russian side has not officially commented on the information about the alleged missile deliveries.
