Iran managed to shoot down American attack UAV and capture Hellfire missile

Iran has successfully continued to seize the weapons of its worst adversaries.

According to media reports, Iran, under currently unknown circumstances, was able to successfully capture several US Hellfire anti-tank missiles. How and when exactly this happened is not specified, however, in a relatively short time, Iranian specialists managed not only to thoroughly study this missile, but also successfully copy it, modifying it for strikes against various types of targets.

“The well-known American anti-tank guided missile AGM-114 Hellfire was successfully copied in Iran. As you know, this ATGM is the standard armament of the AH-64 Apache, AH-1Z Viper, OH-58 Kiowa helicopters, as well as the MQ-1 Predator, MQ-9 Reaper attack drones. The created clone, designated Ghaem-114, is currently on display at the Tehran Exhibition of Achievements and Promising Developments for the Navy. As noted by military expert Yuri Lyamin, the existence of such weapons became known in February this year, when missiles were noticed in the photographs of one of the modernized Bell-214A helicopters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. But then they were shown from afar, and now you can already see them in close-up "- This is reported by the Russian edition "Russian Weapon".

The dimensions and shape of the copied American missile practically did not change, however, according to available information, Iran was successfully able to modify it for its own needs.

It should be noted that Iran could well have received a Hellfire missile after the successful destruction of American drones in Syrian airspace, although at the same time there is information that the missile entered Iran from Yemen, where local rebels, thanks to Iranian weapons, shot down several American UAVs. equipped with these missiles.
