Tests of the Russian SSC-X-9 Skyfall "Burevestnik" cruise missile will take place this week

The first tests of the Russian Burevestnik missile, after a long break, will take place this week.

The source of the news agency Avia.pro reports that by the end of this week it is planned to launch the latest Russian cruise missile "Burevestnik" from the test center located on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago, better known in NATO as the SSC-X-9 Skyfall ...

It is known that the tests themselves are planned for the period from 14 to 25 August. At the same time, it is clarified that at the moment the launch has not been performed. The same information was previously announced by the Russian media, and the news of the planned launch of a nuclear-powered cruise missile in the near future was confirmed by a CNN source.

Based on the closed area, the SSC-X-9 Skyfall missile will be launched over a short distance. The second tests may take place before the end of this year. This, by the way, will depend on the success of the former.

A year earlier, it became known that an infrastructure had been created on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago that would make it possible to launch the Burevestnik rocket. At the same time, the intensification of tests indicates that the development of this rocket can be completed in the near future. According to various estimates, this will happen closer to 2030, after which the question of adopting the missile into service with the Russian army will be raised.

It will be a flying Chernobyl.
