Residents of the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions reported the first flights of armed F-16 fighters in the skies of Ukraine. According to them, two planes were seen in the sky with weapons installed. Although the type of missiles could not be precisely determined, it has been suggested that they could be AIM-9 missiles, designed to intercept unmanned aerial vehicles.

The sighting of these fighters has generated considerable interest and discussion among local residents and experts. The first appearance of F-16s with combat equipment in Ukrainian skies indicates a new stage in the use of this technology. Until this moment, information about armed flights of these aircraft had not been confirmed.

Of particular concern is the possible presence of AMRAAM missiles on board these fighters. These air-to-air missiles have a range of up to 160-180 kilometers and can pose a serious threat to any air targets. However, so far F-16 flights with such missiles have not been recorded.
