Fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces intercepted an American reconnaissance aircraft.

Near the Russian borders, the forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces intercepted the American military reconnaissance aircraft RC-135W Rivet Joint. The incident occurred over the waters of the Sea of ​​Japan, while Russian Su-35S fighters and MiG-31 fighter interceptors took part in the interception, which was confirmed by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“On July 11, an air target was detected by Russian airspace control over the neutral waters of the Sea of ​​Japan, flying in the direction of the state border of the Russian Federation”, - information is provided by representatives of the Russian defense department.

For what purpose the American military reconnaissance aircraft RC-135W Rivet Joint was approaching the Russian borders - it is not known, however, a similar situation was also observed at the Russian western borders - the British Air Force conducted reconnaissance near the borders of the Kaliningrad region.

It should be noted that due to the actions of NATO, the tension at the Russian borders is growing rapidly, especially since earlier American strategic nuclear bombers began to appear here, which, as it is supposed, practiced striking at Russian military facilities.
