Russia decided to support the Kurds in the fight against the Turkish army and jihadists.

Against the background of earlier information that Damascus and the Syrian Kurds began to negotiate with the mediation of Russia on the possible granting of autonomy to the Kurds in the north of the Arab Republic in exchange for granting the Syrian authorities access to the northern territories, it became known that Russia began to support the Kurdish military formations by strikes on the areas where the Turkish army and militants are located in the zone of the Ankara military operation "Olive Branch".

It is known that about a day ago, Russian fighters and bombers appeared in the sky over the Syrian province of Aleppo, the northern part of which is actually occupied by Turkey, which unauthorizedly announced the conduct of the "Olive Branch" military operation against the Kurds. In addition to striking the area of ​​the village of Tuweis, it was reported that Russian fighters could drive Turkish aircraft from the borders of Syria. The appearance of Russian military aircraft in this region is more than unusual. Apparently, the Russian side is sending signals to Erdogan that if Ankara does not obey and withdraw its troops from Idlib and does not stop supporting the militants, Russia is ready to put an end to Turkish military ambitions in Syria.

“Judging by the fact that the strikes were single, this can be regarded as a signal to Turkey.
