VKS fighters began to accompany Russian military patrols

Russia had to fly fighters to the sky to protect the convoy of Russian military.

A number of information sources reported that the Russian aerospace forces were lifted into the air to protect the convoy of Russian troops moving along the M4 highway towards the western border of the Syrian province of Idlib. This is the first known case when Russia was forced to fly its military aircraft into the sky to protect the convoy with the Russian military, however, Turkish sources have already accused the Russian military of striking Turkish militants and the military.

At the moment, there is no information from the Russian military that combat aircraft of the Russian aerospace forces did indeed fly from the Khmeimim airbase, although according to Al-Masdar News, air strikes were actually carried out, but in a slightly different area, located near the Turkish borders.

“The Russian air force was spotted throughout the western part of Idlib province while striking at places like Jisr al-Shugur along the Turkish border. According to a field report from Idlib Governorate, Russian air forces flew over areas controlled by militant groups such as the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP), Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (KHT) and Urras Al-Khatras (terrorist groups banned in Russia - approx., - said in a published material Al-Masdar News.

Experts believe that Russia could indeed take combat aircraft into the air, since the western part of Idlib province is literally flooded with terrorists who could well attack the Russian military, although there is no evidence for this.
