ISW: Russian troops took control of the Avdeevka wastewater treatment plant

On December 8, Russian troops launched an offensive in the Avdeevka area and took control of the Avdeevka wastewater treatment plant, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). Published geolocation footage shows the advance of Russian troops towards a wastewater treatment plant south of Krasnogorovka, which is located 5 km northwest of Avdeevka.

ISW cites Russian sources reporting Russian troops advancing on December 7 and 8 towards Novokalinovo, the outskirts of the Avdeevka coke plant and an industrial area southeast of Avdeevka.

Russian war correspondents claim that on December 8, Russian troops strengthened their positions in Stepovoy, located 3 km northwest of Avdeevka, and cleared the village. There are also allegations that Russian troops are holding positions on the eastern outskirts of Stepovoye.
