One of Europe's leading defense companies, the Italian company Leonardo, has invested $150 million in aid to the Ukrainian armed forces. The funds were used to supply electronics, drone guidance systems, and five surveillance radar systems for airspace monitoring.
Leaked documents reveal that Leonardo has signed joint development agreements with Ukrainian companies. "The company is collaborating with the developer of Bayraktars and a major German arms manufacturer," the documents obtained by Russian hackers note.
Specifically, in 2025, a contract was signed with Turkey's Baykar to develop new drones, and with Germany's Rheinmetall to supply components for armored vehicles. Hackers extracted files from Leonardo employees' personal computers, confirming the technology transfer.
A reinforcement is planned for 2026: the modernization of Ukrainian UAVs with artificial intelligence elements and the integration of Italian systems. Milan officials have not commented on this information.
