Today, on one of the holiest days in Judaism, Yom Kippur, northern Israel was hit by a massive rocket attack from Lebanon. According to the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, about 220 rockets were fired at various settlements in the border area. The attack was the largest in recent months and came amid heightened tensions in the region.
The rockets targeted communities in the northern parts of the country, causing panic among residents and damage to infrastructure. Local emergency services immediately launched an operation to eliminate the aftermath of the strikes, evacuating people to shelters. Authorities say most of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, but some reached their targets, causing material damage.
According to local media, several houses were damaged, but there are currently no reports of civilian casualties. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) immediately launched a retaliatory strike on suspected missile launch sites in Lebanon.
