Israel Prepares for Possible Strikes on Iran's Nuclear Facilities

Following the massive airstrikes on targets in Syria, the Israeli military has announced strategic capabilities to strike Iranian nuclear facilities. Galei Tzahal Radio reported that the success of the operation against Syrian air defenses has significantly simplified Israel's control over the region's airspace.

According to the Israeli side, the airstrikes destroyed 86% of Syria's air defense systems, including the Buk (SA-17) and Pantsir (SA-22) systems. Previously, these systems posed a serious threat to Israeli aviation, but now, according to the radio, Syrian airspace is effectively open to Israeli air force operations.

In addition, during the operation, 90% of MiG-29 fighters and about 80% of Su-24 bombers of Bashar al-Assad's army were destroyed. Overall, the damage to the Syrian Air Force is estimated at 61%, which significantly reduces their combat capability.

The Israeli military believes that the destruction of a significant part of Syria's military infrastructure allows it to focus on eliminating the nuclear threat from Iran. Intelligence and defense ministries are coordinating to present possible action plans to the Israeli political leadership. Tel Aviv views Iran as a key threat to regional security and intends to take preventive measures.

At the same time, Israel expresses concern about the possible transfer of the remaining Syrian weapons systems into the hands of radical groups operating in Syria. The radio station notes that the choice of targets for strikes on Syrian facilities was made taking into account priorities: the most dangerous systems for Israel were destroyed first. However, the capabilities of the rebels remain little known.

The operation to destroy the military potential of the Assad regime included attacks on 500 sites and the use of 1800 weapons.
