Israel launched missile attacks on the outskirts of Damascus after talks between Putin and Netanyahu

The Syrian army said its air defense system shot down Israeli missiles fired from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Sunday evening near the capital Damascus. The Army statement said the missiles that were not intercepted caused some damage.

The Israeli army declined to comment on the incident.

On Friday, four Hezbollah-backed fighters were killed by an Israeli drone in the town of Madinat al-Baath in Quneitra province, near the Golan Heights, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The day before, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Israel fired eight rockets at targets near Damascus and a Syrian army post in Quneitra province.

These strikes were in response to shelling of the Golan Heights annexed by Israel.
