Israel accused Hamas of violating the agreements.

The Israeli Institute of Forensic Medicine has confirmed that one of the four bodies handed over by Hamas as part of the agreement to return the remains of Israeli hostages does not belong to a kidnapped Israeli citizen. Instead, it belongs to a Gaza Strip resident allegedly associated with the terrorist group Hamas, a serious violation of the agreement.

According to Israeli sources, this is not the first violation by Hamas. Israeli authorities are considering possible retaliatory measures, despite the group's assurances to mediating countries such as Qatar and Egypt that it will comply with the agreements. The day before, Israel agreed to reopen the Rafah crossing on the border with Egypt following the transfer of bodies, but due to Hamas's manipulation, this decision is in doubt. As of the morning of October 15, the crossing remained closed, although preparations are ongoing to reopen it exclusively for entry and exit of Gazan residents.

Under the initial terms of the recently signed ceasefire, Hamas committed to releasing all living hostages and handing over all bodies within 72 hours. However, the group claimed it did not know the whereabouts of nine of the 28 bodies due to intense fighting in Gaza and the deaths of the militants guarding them. Mediators, with Israel's consent, granted Hamas additional time to search, which the Israelis believed became an opportunity for manipulation. Instead of the promised 19 bodies, Hamas handed over only eight, of which only seven belonged to hostages.
