The Israeli government intends to equip civil aircraft protection against MANPADS systems.

According to the data available from the Avia.pro resource, at the moment the system for protecting civilian aircraft from MANPADS is undergoing a certification stage, and at the end of this process, the directional infrared countermeasures system will minimize the threat that civilian aircraft can be destroyed by missile systems with an infrared guidance system.

Experts do not exclude that a decision may later be made on the necessity of the mandatory installation of such systems on airplanes moving over the territories of countries in which there is a military threat or conflicts are observed. However, it is necessary to clarify the fact that the operation of the system is very limited and cannot always ensure the safety of the aircraft on which it is installed.
