The Israeli Defense Ministry has signed a contract with the American concern Boeing for the delivery of 25 F-15AI combat aircraft — all-weather fourth-generation fighters. These aircraft will be equipped with Israeli instruments and software, which will allow them to adapt the equipment to the unique requirements of the Israeli Air Force. The contract is worth $5,2 billion, and will be financed by American military aid.
The agreement includes the option to purchase an additional 25 fighters of the same model in the future. The first deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2031, with a rate of four to six aircraft per year. The Israeli Defense Ministry emphasizes that this deal is an important milestone in deepening security cooperation with the United States and demonstrates a mutual commitment to maintaining stability in the region.
Earlier this year, Israel also signed a contract to purchase F-35 aircraft for a third squadron, further strengthening the Israeli Air Force and boosting the country's defense capabilities.
