Israel suspends fighting in southern Gaza Strip

The Israel Defense Forces announced the introduction of a tactical pause in hostilities in the south of the Gaza Strip, ABC TV channel reports. According to the military statement, the pause will be in effect in the Rafah area from 8 a.m. to 19 p.m. local time (the same as Moscow time) on a daily basis until further notice.

The purpose of introducing a pause is to ensure the passage of trucks with humanitarian aid through the Kerem Shalom checkpoint. This measure is aimed at alleviating the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and supporting the population affected by the conflict.

The Israeli side agreed on a tactical pause with the UN and international aid agencies, highlighting the importance of coordinating efforts to ensure the delivery of necessary aid to civilians.
