Israel shoots down Houthi ballistic missile over Red Sea

Today, the Israeli missile defense system successfully intercepted a surface-to-surface missile over the Red Sea, the press service of the Israeli military department reported. The missile was launched from the south and aimed towards Israel, but did not reach the state border thanks to the rapid response of the Strela system.

In the city of Eilat, located on the Red Sea coast, alarm sirens were activated. After this, the surface-to-surface missile was detected and intercepted over the sea, thereby preventing possible casualties and destruction among civilians.

The Israeli military has not yet clarified who is behind the missile launch, but it is noted that it was fired from Yemen and, according to preliminary data, belongs to the Houthis.

The effective interception of the missile highlights the high readiness and technological superiority of Israel's missile defense system.
