Israel resumes large-scale bombing of Gaza Strip in response to terrorist attack

The Israeli armed forces announced that they had carried out strikes on two hundred Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. The attacks were carried out using aircraft, artillery and warships, and Hamas command centers, tunnels, weapons depots, launchers and firing points were hit. According to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the strikes were carried out in preparation for the second stage of the ground operation.

In response to Israeli actions, Hamas launched dozens of rockets towards Israeli settlements and military units, some of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. Also, Palestinian militants received support from Hezbollah, which fired at Israeli military positions on the border with Lebanon. At the moment there is no information about the injured security forces.

According to the Palestinian enclave's Ministry of Health, at least 109 people were killed in Gaza today alone after the end of a seven-day truce. Within two hours of its completion, 60 dead and dozens of wounded were reported, as well as the destruction of at least 8 houses as a result of Israeli airstrikes.

Eyewitnesses report that particularly intense bombing was directed at the Khan Yunis refugee camp. Before the attacks began, Israeli planes dropped leaflets advising civilians to leave the area and go south for safety.

The truce was declared over due to the inability of the parties to agree on the number of hostages to exchange.
