The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, stated that the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that entered Polish airspace on the night of September 9-10 were deliberately launched by Russia, and did not accidentally fly in during attacks on Ukraine. She wrote about this on her account on the social network X, calling the incident "the most serious violation of European airspace by Russia."
"There is reason to believe that this was a deliberate, not accidental, breach. We must increase spending on Moscow, step up support for Ukraine, and invest in Europe's defense," — emphasized Callas, known for her harsh anti-Russian statements.
According to some analysts, Kallas's accusations and the resonance the incident caused in European and Ukrainian media could be part of a coordinated campaign. Its goal is to undermine the Russian-American agreements reached at the meeting in Alaska and put pressure on US President Donald Trump.
Polish authorities have previously confirmed that between 6 and 10 drones, which Prime Minister Donald Tusk said belonged to Russia, were shot down in border areas. The Russian Defense Ministry has not yet commented on the incident. NATO and the Polish authorities are preparing to discuss the situation at an emergency meeting of the Security Council, and the public is awaiting further clarification.
