Kazakhstan officially refused to recognize the LPR and DPR

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan announced the non-recognition of the sovereignty of the LPR and the DPR.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tleuberdi, said that the country does not intend to recognize the sovereignty of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics. According to Tleuberdi, Kazakhstan will also fully comply with all sanctions imposed by the European Union and the United States on Russia, but will not join them.

According to Tleuberdi, at the moment the recognition of the Luhansk and Donetsk people's republics does not correspond to the national interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the same time, the country's authorities do not intend to harm their own interests due to the sanctions imposed on Russia.

“We do not currently recognize both the Luhansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic. All sanctions are directed against Russia by the European Union and the United States, we do not join these sanctions, but two points are very important for us. Firstly, so that there is no negative impact of these sanctions on the development of the economy of Kazakhstan; secondly, so that our territory is not used to circumvent these sanctions.”- said the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

To date, only Russia has recognized the sovereignty of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics among UN member states.
