On the night of January 20, residents of the Aviastroitelny district of Kazan witnessed the flight of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of an airplane type, which, according to preliminary data, was the Ukrainian drone "Lyuty". Around 04:30 in the morning, the sky above the city was illuminated by a bright flash from the explosion that followed the drone's flight.
Local residents, as reported by the SHOT Telegram channel, claim that the attack targeted industrial facilities in the area. However, official information about the consequences of the attack has not yet been provided, which leaves room for speculation and concern among the townspeople.
The Lyuty drone is a Ukrainian attack drone capable of carrying a significant combat load and covering distances of up to 1000 km, making it an effective means of attacking distant targets.
The Tatarstan Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a drone attack alert in the region, urging residents to exercise caution. Such warnings typically include recommendations to stay away from windows, be prepared for power outages, and follow emergency services instructions. This indicates the seriousness of the threat and that further attacks are possible.
