Kyiv is preparing for a new “meat” counter-offensive

In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Kuleba announced the preparation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for new counter-offensive actions. Kuleba emphasized that any pause in hostilities could give the enemy the opportunity to regroup and move on to new actions against Ukraine.

This statement contradicts previous statements by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who previously spoke about the transition to defensive actions and the need to build defensive lines, including on the border with Belarus. Kuleba added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are also ready for defensive actions.

American journalists noted that the mood in Ukraine has recently changed due to the failed summer counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. At the beginning of the year, Ukrainians were emboldened and determined to expel Russian troops from 20% of their territories. However, Ukraine's ability to regain a significant part of its territory is now in question.
